We Equip Ministers

OUR MISSION
SRL promotes church reformation through intense theological education and pastoral training according to the biblical Doctrines of Grace and the historical legacy of the 16th century evangelical Reformers.
OUR DISTINCTIVES
Biblical.
Seminary curriculum is rigorously anchored in the intensive study of the sixty-six God-inspired books of the Holy Scripture. Students receive systematic instruction to equip them with linguistic competence to interpret scripture accurately and faithfully through sound biblical hermeneutics. Our goal is for students to use these skills and apply them practically through expository preaching and teaching ministries.
Historical.
Following the pedagogical model set forth by Calvin's Geneva Academy, the seminary operates in accordance with historical confessions of faith and the legacy of the 16th-century evangelical Reformers. Our academic programs encompass a focused study of church history, emphasizing the theological and ecclesial impact of the Protestant Reformation.
Confessional.
SRL is a non-denominational Reformed ministry. We adhere to the Doctrines of Grace, TULIP, the five Solas (sola Scriptura, sola fide, sola gratia, solus Christus, soli Deo gloria), the London Baptist Confession of 1689 or the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Heidelberg Catechism, and other compatible Reformed creeds.
Accesible.
We are unified in the Reformation by honoring denominational distinctions. Core courses are identical, but electives may be selected from two distinct wings: The Charles Haddon Spurgeon wing (Reformed Baptist) and the James Montgomery Boice wing (Presbyterian). Undergraduate and postgraduate studies are offered through multiple affordable programs without compromising on our high academic standards.
OUR CHARGE
"And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."
2 Timothy 2:2

A Message from Our Chancellor
Dr. Noè S. Acosta
Dear Friends,
When SRL was founded over 25 years ago, the objective was to take the 16th-century Reformation to Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world by providing a high academic level of Reformed theological education, in Spanish, to ministers of the Gospel. This goal continues to be the driving factor for the mission and, by God’s grace, has borne an abundance of fruit. SRL also remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold Sacred Scripture as the only infallible rule of faith and conduct.
As the ministry has grown, the education provided purposefully transcends the boundaries of denominations; in order to address the educational needs of its students without proselytizing, SRL upholds the Westminster Confession or the 1689 London Baptist Confession in its two schools: James Montgomery Boice (Presbyterian) and Charles Spurgeon (Reformed Baptist). With this, students can select the distinctive elective courses according to their doctrinal and ecclesiological convictions. While the academic aspect is not compromised, SRL provides spiritual nurturing to the hearts of the students. Additionally, all core courses in SRL’s curriculum are identical for all students.
The fruit of SRL’s efforts over the past two decades has revealed itself in the lives of its students. Thousands of pastors and seminarians have become not only more knowledgeable about the Reformation, but also deeply rooted in sound biblical doctrines and disciplines. As a result, many have either planted confessional churches or have reformed their congregations.
SRL now has three residential seminaries established in three countries, plus sites in almost every country in Latin America, as well as in Spain and several U.S. states. At these seminary sites, intensive weekly modules are used to soundly educate our students. SRL has also established a professional and effective virtual program that reaches students around the world. Already, more than 50 bilingual courses are available. These courses continue to be taught by professors of the highest caliber, including both residential and qualified visiting professors, the latter of whom donate their time to teach weekly intensive courses through modules in all the SRL sites in different countries throughout the year.
SRL is a 501 (C)(3) tax-exempt organization and faithfully retains authorization from the Florida Department of Education to grant bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees for ecclesiastical purposes. SRL also continues to hold affiliation with the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries (ARTS) and is yearly accredited by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).
If you are interested in investing in this mission, here are several ways you can [Give]. If you are a student looking to pursue further education, we warmly invite you to [study with SRL] via one of our programs.
On behalf of the SRL Board of Trustees, I thank every partner, professor, and student who has supported SRL’s ministry and continues to labor for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. We rejoice in how God has used this ministry in bringing reformation to the Spanish-speaking world, and we look forward to seeing what His Plan holds in store for the future.
With profound gratitude,
Dr. Noè S. Acosta
